Opening Remarks from the Honourable Krista Lynn Howell, Minister of Municipal and Provincial Affairs, FCM President Joanne Vanderheyden, MNL President Amy Coady and Trina Appleby, MNL Vice-president and FCM National Chair for the Standing Committee on Increasing Women’s Participation in Municipal Government 

Connect Session – Dr. Deatra Walsh, Feminist researcher and Director of Advocacy and Communications, MNL 

The connect session will begin with an empowerment presentation by Dr. Walsh focused on what we have learned over the pandemic about women in leadership and where we need to go.  

Dr. Walsh will facilitate a table talk session for participants to (re)connect, to bring key concerns, topics of conversation and questions forward and to set their leadership goals.  

Stretch break 

Communicate Session – Amy Stoodley, Founder of Atlantic Storytellers, will take participants through an interactive communication session designed specifically for women in leadership.  

Succeed Session – Participants will spend the closing portion of the summit on the topic of success – revisiting what success will look like.
