Municipal Conduct Act Training
The Municipal Conduct Act requires municipal elected officials and administrators to undergo mandatory training. We are pleased to offer the opportunity to receive in-person training in a group setting May 1-2 in Gander. This training will include daily nutrition breaks.
The Municipal Conduct Act day-and-a-half training session includes the following five modules:
- Roles and Responsibilities
- Meetings and Procedures
- Budgets and Financial Management
- Conflict of Interest
- ATIPP
The second training session will take a half day and will cover Code of Conduct orientation, which is required to be completed within three months of a municipality adopting its code of conduct.
This training is eligible for funding from the Department of Municipal and Provincial Affairs (MAPA). Each municipality is eligible for funding of $125 per person, with a maximum total of $1,000 per municipality per fiscal year. You can download the funding application form here.
These sessions will be conducted by Sandy Hounsell, a retired Provincial Government employee now working as an independent consultant and trainer.
Space is limited to 40 participants. Be sure to register soon.
