Thank you for attending our first ever virtual conference

With our first virtual conference now safely under our belt, I’d like to take a moment to thank each of our delegates, sponsors, and presenters who made this year’s pioneering event a successful one!

With almost 200 participants, more than 100 presenters and another 100 sponsors and guests all attending over 60 virtual sessions, I am delighted to say that MNL has successfully found a new format for sharing quality content as an organization.

For more than eight months COVID-19 has forced us all to adapt and innovate – and to meet this “new normal,” our team redesigned the agenda from the ground up to ensure we could safely bring the most pressing sector issues directly to you.

While we always strive to bring new ideas and perspectives to our events, we felt given the current public health pandemic that it was time to reach beyond our provincial boundaries and bring industry professionals, government leaders and respected academics from across Canada into your living rooms and offices.  And this is precisely what we achieved.

On behalf of all of us at MNL, I would like to say a special thank you to Premier Andrew Furey, the participating provincial ministers and party leaders as well as Dame Moya Greene, The Honourable Clyde K. Wells and Dr. Janice Fitzgerald, the province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, for joining us.

My sincerest thanks also go to our sponsors who trusted that we could deliver a professional virtual event and that you, our members, would see the value and show up.

We have uploaded all session recordings to our virtual conference website, which is available to registered participants to view On-Demand until December 8, 2020. If you haven’t registered and would like to access the conference content, you can still do that by visiting www.municipalnl.ca.

Although talk of a vaccine has been widespread in the news recently, it is unlikely that the world will return to “normal” before next spring. We’re already working on how our next event, the Municipal Symposium, will be delivered in May 2021. Keep an eye out for details on this event early in the new year.

In the meantime, from all of us at MNL, stay safe and take care of each other!
