Minister Letto to speak at MNL Regional Meeting in St. John’s this weekend.

The Honourable Graham Letto, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Environment, along with Derrick Bragg, Parliamentary Secretary for Municipal Affairs and Environment will speak at MNL’s Avalon / Eastern Regional Meeting on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Holiday Inn Express, 5 Navigator Ave, in St. John’s beginning at 2 pm.

This event will draw elected provincial representatives, municipal leaders and senior municipal staff from around the Avalon and Eastern regions of Newfoundland and Labrador. This workshop begins at 2 pm on Friday, February 1 and will run through to 3 pm on Saturday, February 2nd. Click here for the AGENDA

MNL represents the interests of local government and therefore sessions during this workshop will focus on issues such as; cannabis in the workplace, national housing strategy, municipal workplace safety as well follow-up to resolutions carried at the 2018 AGM that include the Highway Traffic Act, Watershed Protection and Mental Health Services. MNL is also looking forward to facilitating an interactive session discussing topics, selected by the delegates that reflect challenges relevant to municipalities of the region.

The Avalon / Eastern Regional Meeting will be chaired by MNL Directors Deputy Mayor Trina Appleby (Torbay) and Mayor Paul Pike (St. Lawrence).
