MNL Announces Shaun Majumder as 2024 MNL Conference, Trade Show and AGM Keynote Speaker

St. John’s, NL – Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador (MNL) is excited to announce that renowned actor, comedian, and entrepreneur Shaun Majumder will be the keynote speaker at its 2024 Conference, Trade Show and Annual General Meeting (AGM), taking place in Gander November 7-9.
A proud Newfoundlander and Labradorian from Burlington, Shaun Majumder has become a celebrated figure in the entertainment industry, known for his sharp wit and compelling storytelling. Beyond his achievements in acting and comedy, Shaun has channelled his passion for his roots into revitalizing his hometown through his eco-tourism project, ‘OME. This initiative has not only breathed new life into Burlington but also sparked a movement towards sustainable rural development across the province.
Shaun’s keynote address, scheduled for Thursday, November 7 at 9:30 a.m., will focus on his deep connection to his home province and his commitment to “Rewriting the Rural Story” of Newfoundland and Labrador. Majumder believes that municipal leaders have the power to reshape the future of rural communities across the province, and he is eager to share his insights and experiences with the conference attendees.
Following his keynote, Shaun will join Burlington Mayor Rudy Norman and Kevin Casey, Executive Vice President and Partner at Cal LeGrow, for a fireside chat. They will delve into the challenges and opportunities facing rural communities, drawing on their collective experiences to provide practical insights for municipal leaders.
