MNL Postpones Central Regional Meeting Amid Concerns of COVID-19 Outbreak

March 13, 2020

St. John’s, NL – In light of growing concerns around the spread of COVID-19, Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador (MNL) is postponing the Central Regional Meeting scheduled for March 27 & 28, 2020, in Gander, NL.

“We have a role to play as municipal leaders,” said MNL President Sheila Fitzgerald. “Our municipalities are the places where people live, work and gather. To make sure that people are safe, postponing this event is the most responsible decision we can take.”

MNL is also sharing important information for its members on COVID-19 on its web site. https://municipalnl.ca/covid-19/

“We want to be sure that our members have the most accurate information. The links on our site are meant to be a resource for them as they make decisions in their communities,” Fitzgerald said.

MNL will continue to assess the COVID-19 situation as it moves forward with future event planning. Members will be notified of any changes to upcoming events.
