Municipal Awareness Day

May 9, 2018 – St. John’s

Each May Municipalities in Newfoundland and Labrador bring awareness to the services our municipal councils and staff provide to the residents of this province.

More than seventeen hundred municipal councillors and hundreds of dedicated staff work hard to make our municipalities more sustainable, prosperous and beautiful places to live.

During Municipal Awareness Day we aim to give residents a look inside the world of local government while also reaching out to engage youth, who will become the next generation of community leaders, municipal administrators and taxpayers.

Recently MNL has expanded our community outreach through live webcasting on our MNL YouTube channel. We’ve also partnered with Ryakuga, a non-profit grassroots communications company that promotes community development through local communications, to broadcast our symposium and convention live on 104.7 FM radio and internet radio webcast.

MNL is proud to once again partner with The Department of Municipal Affairs and Environment and the Professional Municipal Administrators to proclaim May 9th as Municipal Awareness Day in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Tell us how you plan to engage the residents of your communities for Municipal Awareness Day, and we’ll share your stories with the world on social media.
