N.L. Councillors Represented On National Stage
St. John’s, NL – Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador is extending congratulations and gratitude to three municipal councillors who will represent the province’s municipalities on the national stage by sitting on the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) Board of Directors.
As the organization representing local governments on a national level, FCM is a key partner in MNL’s work to advocate on behalf of municipalities in Newfoundland and Labrador.
During FCM’s national conference in Regina, SK, MNL President and Grand Falls-Windsor Councillor Amy Coady, MNL Vice President and Torbay Councillor Trina Appleby, and Corner Brook Mayor Jim Parsons renewed their commitment to bringing local N.L. issues to national attention.
FCM is a valuable partner in the work MNL does to represent municipal interests at a federal level. MNL and FCM share priorities in advancing awareness of municipal issues such as housing, transit, infrastructure and climate change.
MNL looks forward to a continued collaboration with FCM as we work together on shared priorities to improve the lives of Newfoundland and Labrador residents through well-supported and informed municipal leadership.
“I am pleased to represent MNL on the FCM Board of Directors, and to be joined by MNL Vice-President Councillor Trina Appleby and Mayor Jim Parsons. We join with FCM on so many of our advocacy priorities. Having a seat at this national table helps move everyone forward as our voice is louder when we speak together.” MNL President Amy Coady.
