Director of Finance & Administration / Town Clerk
The Town Council of Labrador City is accepting applications for the position of Director of Finance & Administration / Town Clerk.
Duties and Responsibilities: Function as the Corporate Secretary to Council. Possess knowledge and understanding of the authority conferred upon Council by legislation and regulations. As Returning Officer, provide the overall organization for municipal elections and by-elections.
Under the direction of the CAO/Town Manager, ensures accurate preparation of all activities related to the Town’s budget and financial statements. Directs the enforcement of municipal by-laws and regulations. Responsibility for the Town’s computing platforms, network, communications and applications. Assists the CAO/Town Manager with human resources functions and supervision of administrative staff.

Qualifications: The successful applicant will have previous managerial experience preferably in municipal administration. The successful applicant will have strong administrative and interpersonal skills and be proficient in oral and written communications. A Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Administration or Commerce with a concentration in accounting is preferred. However, applicants who possess an equivalent combination of experience, training and personal attributes may be considered.
Salary Scale: Commensurate with scale established by Council
