MNL is proud to present Summer Sessions, a series of one-day municipal sustainability events happening across Newfoundland and Labrador.
This is your opportunity for regional collaboration with a focus on the top issues facing communities across the province. These sessions will enable you, the province’s municipal leaders, to build sustainable communities through new approaches to:
MNL’s Housing Capacity Building Program has been extended by one-year, with a shift in focus from sourcing funding to enabling solutions to housing challenges. Find out how you and your municipality can solve barriers to providing housing by using existing tools and systems in new and creative ways.
Community growth doesn’t happen alone – it requires a regional lens. And it requires regional discussions. MNL’s new program, the Regional Prosperity Partnership, is a regional economic development project built in partnership with the Economic Developers Association of NL and others. It is guided by MNL’s two new Economic Development Officers, one based in St. John’s and one based in Corner Brook. Using a discussion-based format, the Economic Development Officers will share information about the program while learning from you about what each region needs to prosper.
Municipal Sustainability is about building for today while planning for tomorrow. What does this look like? How can your town enact sustainable planning processes? What options are available today to build communities that will attract new residents? Find the answers to these questions and more in a collaborative session guided by the Tomorrow’s Towns program.

We encourage mayors, council members, and municipal administrators to attend, as content will be of most benefit to them. Community stakeholders are welcome to also attend and contribute to the discussions.
Summer Sessions are scheduled for the following dates and locations:
