Pat Curran, MA, CMC, AMBCI is Lead Consultant of Pat Curran + Associates
Pat Curran’s professional life involves working with individuals, organizations, communities, and business in relation to organizational development, strategic planning, economic development, and regional collaboration.
From January 2011 to the present, Pat Curran has been Lead Consultant for Pat Curran + Associates Inc. His clients have included corporate, public, and not-for-profit clients. From 1998 to 2011 he led the Irish Loop Development Board as its executive director, guiding economic development in the region.
Pat Curran has considerable experience in economic development, municipal governance, and the public policy process. He is a former councilor and mayor of the Town of Witless Bay and much of his professional practice has involved working with municipalities and community development organizations. In 2013 he led the update of the Municipal Council Handbook for local government in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. He has a keen understanding of the public policy process at the local, provincial, and federal level through his experience with municipal government and past service as assistant to Federal and Provincial cabinet ministers. Pat is an experienced project manager, leading diverse teams in multiple consulting assignments. In 2023 he was awarded the Economic Developer of the Year Award by EDANL, recognizing excellence in economic development in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Pat Curran is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC) and has a Master of Arts in Political Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a particular focus on public policy, regionalization, and municipal government. He is also a certified Business Continuity Management professional (AMBCI).
