Looking for ways to make your community more welcoming, inclusive, and attractive to newcomers? Join us for an informative session focused on the role municipalities play in supporting newcomer attraction, settlement, integration, and retention.
As communities across Newfoundland and Labrador look to attract and retain residents, municipalities have an increasingly important role to play in welcoming newcomers. This session will explore how municipal leaders can support newcomer settlement and integration through local planning, partnerships, and community initiatives.
Participants will gain an overview of the Settlement Services Standards Framework, settlement and integration funding opportunities, and successful examples of municipal engagement from across the province. The session will also highlight supports available for international recruitment and provide an introduction to provincial immigration pathways, helping municipalities leverage immigration as a tool for community and economic growth.
