Over the past two years, MNL’s Housing Capacity Building program has helped municipalities across Newfoundland and Labrador move from conversation to action. From exploring new models to building partnerships and unlocking funding, communities have taken meaningful steps toward addressing one of the most pressing challenges they face.
This session is where we take stock of that work.
We’ll look back at what’s been accomplished, not just in terms of projects, but in knowledge, confidence, and collaboration. More importantly, we’ll turn the focus to you. What worked in your community. What didn’t. Where momentum stalled. And where opportunity still exists.
This presentation is a working session designed to shape what comes next. Together, we’ll define how MNL can continue to support municipalities in tackling housing challenges in a way that is practical, realistic, and built for the realities of rural and small-town Newfoundland and Labrador.
Outcomes:
  • Attendees will leave with a clear sense of which housing approaches, partnerships, and actions delivered real results in communities similar to their own.
  • A more honest and collective picture of the challenges still standing in the way, whether that’s funding gaps, capacity limits, or structural issues that need to be addressed differently.
  • Participants will help shape the future direction of MNL’s housing work, ensuring the next phase is built around practical needs, not assumptions, and designed to support real progress on the ground.
