Melanie Ball is a co-founder of NL Health Infusions. Born and raised in Ontario, Melanie fell in love with Newfoundland the first time she visited with her children to explore her husband’s roots here. Since making the move 6 years ago, she can’t imagine living anywhere else. She brings to this work a perspective that is uniquely valuable: she knows exactly what it feels like to be the newcomer trying to picture a life somewhere new, and she knows firsthand just how warmly Newfoundlanders welcome people who choose to make this province home.
She’s also someone who keeps herself busy. With a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo, Melanie built her first career in technology before discovering her love of teaching after having children. Now retired from the classroom, she continues to tutor students for free because she believes money should never be a barrier to learning. When she’s not tutoring, you’ll find her on the water rowing with Susan, at the gym, or out for a run.
When fellow Harbour Grace Regatta champion and good friend Susan Thorne posted she was starting an NL chapter of Healthcare Infusions, Melanie simply asked: how can I help? Within days, Susan had the website up and Melanie had the Discord server running.
