Do you want to learn more about the new training being developed by PMA for your Town and City Clerks, Managers, CAOs and Department Heads?
Many municipal administrators need training for the work required of them. Ensuring regulations and legislation are followed, understanding the importance of good financial management, human resources and many other topics are essential skills for a well operating and functioning municipal office.
With the introduction of the new Towns and Local Service Districts Act, PMA determined that a full update of training opportunities was necessary. For the last year, PMA has been working through the initial phases of research and recommendations for the new training. Without thorough staff training, many municipalities experience frequent turnover and must continually reinvest in hiring new staff.
Find out how this new training will be developed to help alleviate the high employee churn many of your municipalities are experiencing. Join members of the PMA Executive Committee as they walk you through the work completed, and how we can all work together to shape a training initiative that will give your employees the essential skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to perform their jobs effectively, fostering higher job satisfaction, increased engagement, and better workplace morale.
Outcomes:
  • Members will leave this session with increased knowledge of the steps PMA is taking to professionalize the training opportunities available for municipal employees.
  • Members will learn how small and large towns alike can improve employee retention and recruitment through adequate training and professional development.
  • Members will obtain insight into the value of providing ongoing professional development for municipal employees.
