Bojan Fürst

He/Him/His
Regional Economic Development Officer
Staff Member

Bojan Fürst is a Newfoundland and Labrador transplant that took surprisingly well to the poor soil and the worse weather. Originally from Croatia, Bojan has been in Canada for over 30 years working in media, not-for-profit and higher education sectors in Alberta, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Before joining MNL as the regional economic development officer for Eastern Region, Bojan spent 14 years working as the manager of knowledge mobilization with the Leslie Harris Centre of Regional Policy and Development at Memorial University of Newfoundland. In that role, he managed all of the Centre’s regional economic development and knowledge mobilization programs and worked with researchers and communities across the province and around the world.

Bojan holds a BA in Journalism from Mount Royal University in Calgary, a post-graduate diploma in social policy development from the Institute of Social Studies at Erasmus University in The Hague, The Netherlands, and an MA in Geography with focus on small islands development from Memorial.

He maintains active photo and radio documentary practice, and you can sometimes hear his docs on CBC Radio.
