Colin Tibbo is Vice President, Service and Innovation at Marine Atlantic, where he leads the organization’s innovation strategy and promotes a company-wide commitment to service excellence. His portfolio includes customer relations, reservations, marketing, service delivery, revenue generation and information technology. He earned a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Computer Science, from Memorial University in 1993. 

Before 2006, Colin served as Director of Information Technology with the provincial Department of Justice. That year, he joined the team tasked with redesigning the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador’s IT delivery model, work that led to the creation of the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). 

Colin was subsequently appointed Executive Director of Infrastructure Services at the OCIO, with responsibility for the government’s IT infrastructure, service desk and data centre environments. 

In 2008, he became Executive Director of Solution Delivery, overseeing enterprise architecture and all technology-enabled OCIO projects. A key part of his mandate was supporting the growth of the province’s technology sector by partnering with local companies to deliver government IT projects. 

Colin also serves on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Ferry Association and chairs its Committee on Innovation. 

He joined Marine Atlantic in 2011.
