Born and raised in the Town of Victoria, Newfoundland and Labrador, I have always had a strong connection to my community and a genuine interest in making a positive difference in the lives of others. I was recently elected as a Town Councilor for Victoria, and I am excited to take on this new role and contribute to the continued growth and development of our town.
Professionally, I am a Registered Nurse with over 25 years of experience in healthcare and currently work as a Nurse Manager at Carbonear General Hospital. Throughout my career, I have gained valuable experience in leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and advocacy. I am also currently pursuing my Master of Nursing degree, further strengthening my leadership skills and commitment to lifelong learning.
My interest in serving on the Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador Board of Directors for the Eastern Region comes from a desire to be a strong voice for our municipalities, particularly smaller rural communities. I recognize the challenges municipalities face, including limited resources, infrastructure needs, and financial pressures. I believe that through collaboration, open communication, and strong representation, we can work together to address these challenges and create opportunities for growth.
I would welcome the opportunity to bring my leadership experience, fresh perspective, and commitment to community service to the MNL Board of Directors while advocating for the needs and priorities of municipalities throughout the Eastern Region.
Dear Fellow Municipal Leaders,
I am pleased to put my name forward for the position of Eastern Region Representative on the Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador (MNL) Board of Directors.
As someone who was born and raised in the Town of Victoria and recently elected as a Town Councilor, I have a strong appreciation for the importance of community, local leadership, and the role municipalities play in shaping the future of our towns.
Throughout my 25 years in healthcare, and currently in my role as a Nurse Manager at Carbonear General Hospital, I have developed strong leadership, communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills. I am also pursuing my Master of Nursing degree, which continues to strengthen my knowledge and leadership abilities. I believe these experiences will serve me well in representing municipalities throughout the Eastern Region.
Although I am new to municipal politics, I bring a fresh perspective, a willingness to learn, and a genuine commitment to making a difference. I recognize that our municipalities face many common challenges, including aging infrastructure, financial constraints, limited resources, and the need to maintain essential services. These challenges can be particularly difficult for smaller rural communities, and I believe it is important that their voices are heard and their concerns represented.
If elected, my priority will be to listen to the concerns of our municipalities, encourage open communication, and advocate for practical solutions that support the needs of our communities. I believe that strong relationships, collaboration, and a united voice are essential to moving our municipalities forward.
I am passionate about community service and believe that positive change begins with people who are willing to step forward, listen, and work together. I would be honored to have the opportunity to represent the Eastern Region and contribute to the important work of MNL.
I respectfully ask for your support and consideration, and I look forward to the opportunity to work alongside municipal leaders across our region.
Thank you for your consideration and support.
Sincerely,
Anneliese Snook
