Northern Cod: From Recovery to Opportunity
The recovery of Northern cod is one of Newfoundland and Labrador’s most important resource stories. As the commercial fishery enters its third year, global cod supply is constrained and demand for high-quality Newfoundland and Labrador cod is strong. We close out the 2026 Conference with our annual banquet, a tradition as old as our annual conference. This year at the banquet, in addition to providing a space for the Department of Municipal and Community Affairs presentation of the Long Service Awards, we will also be presenting the MNL Municipal Leadership Awards.
The Hon. Joanne Thompson will bring greetings.
