The 2026 Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador Annual General Meeting is scheduled for November 7, 2026 at the St. John’s Convention Centre.

Member municipalities are encouraged to send two voting delegates to the AGM. Please complete the registration form to attend.

Resolutions

Resolutions submitted by the Board of Directors and member municipalities at the Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador (MNL) Annual General Meeting have been a core component of MNL’s advocacy work since the first meeting in 1951.  

MNL is accepting resolutions from municipalities until September 25 at 4:30 p.m. Newfoundland Time. Resolutions approved by the MNL Advocacy Committee will be voted on by the membership at the AGM.

Board of Director elections

MNL is now accepting nominations for its Board of Directors. Nominations are open to currently-serving council members of municipalities in good standing with MNL. To nominate yourself or another person, fill out this form and email it to Wendolyn Schlamp, MNL Engagement Officer.

The deadline to submit nominations is October 7, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.

At the 2026 MNL AGM, members will vote for Board of Director regional seats. The following positions are available:

• Avalon Director
• Eastern Director
• Central Director
• Western Director
• Northern Director
• Labrador Director

Board members serve two-year terms. Duties of regional director board members include:

• Attending board meetings
• Attending committee meetings as chair or vice-chair
• Attending MNL events
• Serving as MNL liason and representative for members in their respective region
