Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador and Partners Proclaim National Housing Day

Corner Brook – Municipal leaders and housing advocates came together today at Corner Brook City Hall to proclaim November 22, 2025 as National Housing Day in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Representatives from Municipalities Newfoundland and Labrador (MNL), Qalipu First Nation, Community Coalition of Housing and Homelessness, and City of Corner Brook were in attendance for the proclamation signing in Corner Brook council chambers today.
MNL, through its Housing Capacity-Building program, is an active partner in providing municipal solutions to housing challenges. MNL continues to advocate to provincial and federal governments for the need to support housing initiatives across the province. Additionally, we look forward to continued housing work with partner organizations.

The proclamation therefore statement: “Therefore, we, the undersigned, on behalf of municipalities across Newfoundland and Labrador and in partnership with all present, do hereby proclaim November 22, 2025 as National Housing Day in Newfoundland and Labrador, and call upon all residents, community organizations, and government agencies to recognize this day as an opportunity to reflect upon and address the housing challenges facing our communities, and to support unhoused individuals who deserve the dignity of a safe and stable place to call home.”
