Councillor Debbie Hawes

Labrador Director

Debbie Hawes lives in the Town of Wabush and was recently elected to council. She has been working at the College of the North Atlantic for over thirty years and is currently  instructing in the Executive Office Management program.  During her time with the the College  Debbie has served on numerous committees including Occupational Health and Safety, Scholarship Committee, and Educational Development Leave. 

Debbie is a strong advocate for workers’ rights, having served on the provincial board of NAPE as both the Labrador Region Board Member and Faculty Component Board Member.

She has served on the Labrador West Health Centre Hospital Auxiliary for the past three years, as president for the past year.  Debbie is a strong believer that it is important to give back to your community, which has led her to municipal service.
